Most of my work is made from etched, cast and fabricated sterling silver and 14k gold. The patterns or layers have been oxidized to reveal detail and create depth. These pieces have a brushed and sanded finish and should be cleaned with fine steel wool (00 or 000). Do not use a dip cleaner or polishing cloth; these and other commercial cleansers may remove the patina and cause surface damage.
Pieces that do not have a patina on them may be cleaned with a metal dip cleaner, usually available at hardware stores. If you would like to know whether your piece has a patina or not, please send an email with a description of the piece and I’ll let you know.
My tableware and small gifts are cast from pewter and usually have a patina to bring out the contrast in patterns. The satin finish is easily scratched so pieces should be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth as necessary. Avoid commercial cleansers as these may abrade the surface. Use very fine steel wool (000 or 0000) to restore the finish.
