Collusion Illusion
Collusion Illusion was my first piece using pages from the ACLU pocket version of the US Constitution. I had just finished taking a class with book artist Hedi Kyle and we spent 4 days learning how to manipulate paper using all kinds of folds. The class was right after the 2016 election and Russia’s influence on that election was just starting to be understood. Constructed from a traditional Japanese letter fold, nine pages of the Constitution are laid out in a grid and over-cross-stitched with the words “United States of America” using the Russian alphabet and the colors of the Russian Flag.
