Conventional Wisdom
Conventional Wisdom is one of a series of pieces, large and small, that I’ve made to encourage people to exercise their right to vote and to recognize that it is a privilege and an obligation. As the 2020 election has clearly illustrated, we must be vigilant in our efforts to make voting accessible to all US citizens in order to preserve our democracy.
This hollow bottle form and lid are constructed from paste paper, chiyogami paper, and embroidery floss. It harkens back to a seemingly less partisan time when the political conventions were festive celebrations for both parties. 12″ high.
