Life Support
Dimensions: 8″ x 5″
Materials: US Constitution (ACLU pocket version), chiyogami paper, archival backing paper, embroidery thread, satin ribbon
Life Support was made in response to the politicization of mask-wearing amidst the Trump administration’s denial of the pandemic, and its ongoing assault on the tenets of the US Constitution and basic civil rights of the American people. While the mask is a safety mechanism for individuals, the Constitution itself has been threatened daily and with an impotent Republican Senate, it appears to be in need of its own life-saving device. Pieced and hand-stitched, 2020.
