So much of what artists do is problem solving — we have an idea of what we want to create and the challenge is bringing that to fruition using whatever materials or skills it takes. When I became a parent at almost 50 I was thrown into a world I knew very little about. But I did know that if I wanted my daughter to eat something that wasn’t her favorite we could make a game out of it by using toothpicks. The delivery system for food became fun instead of focusing on the food itself. That idea became the foundation for Picky Eaters.
With my business partner and fellow-mom Stephanie Fedro-Byrom, we began the process of making this vision a reality. It took way longer than we expected, partially because we were committed to manufacturing these locally and not overseas, there were delays in the certification process (remember government shut-downs?), and life just intervened. We proudly persevered and now have these amazing Picky Eaters ready to make healthy eating fun for everyone.
